Emily Dickinson

We aim to recreate a Dickinson poet-gardener posy or arrangement by featuring a selection of flowers that Dickinson grew in her garden. Tiger lilies, daisies, wildflowers, jasmine, and roses were among her favorites. In letters, Dickinson referred to herself as “Daisy,” so we’ll surely feature a similar flower for you. To this day, Ox-eye daisies grace the fields around Dickinson’s home in Amherst!

Posy: Delight your friends with a whimsical, hand-tied posy! These small bouquets, or posies, are inspired by Emily Dickinson and her great poésie. Although we now remember Dickinson as an extraordinary poet, in her day, she was more publicly known as an avid gardener. Sometimes, Dickinson would craft a small bouquet from her garden, bind it in ribbon, and present it as a gift to a friend before a church service. One friend documented that Dickinson hid a note in her bouquet by twining it around a central stem. What a tiny & lovely surprise!

Your bouquet or arrangement will feature a short Dickinson poem at the center of the bouquet. You may include a custom note for your recipient.
